Theorem 5.3 – Sweat Block: When a person goes out with the same opposite-sex person on several occasions over a short period of time and allows them to subsidize the majority of food, beverage, entertainment and travel expenses jointly incurred, that person can find themselves on a sweat block with the anticipation of a sexual move by that opposite-sex person.
Proof: There are people who believe that whomever initiates a social public outing is obligated to pay—and for almost everything no less. Now, in a world where people equally initiate, that is, ask for a joint social outing, it makes sense that the person asking does the paying as well. But what about a world where there are certain people doing all of the asking and certain people, no matter how interested, doing all the waiting for the asking?
In the heterosexual hook-up and dating world we find the female sometimes complaining about the male trying to get in her jeans after several dates. Upon further review, one finds out that the male paid for each one of those dates. The solution to this could not be simpler. All the female needs to do is pay her fair share of the dating expenses jointly incurred or, better yet, pay for all expenses jointly incurred. If the female is paying for everything, the male is then put on the sweat block, and made to worry that the female is going to expect sex from him.
